This spring, Answering Legal will begin producing a number of new podcast shows, which will all fall under the umbrella of the newly created Answering Legal Podcast Network. Over the next few weeks, two new podcast shows will be making their debut on our network, with three more shows on the way later this spring.
Answering Legal is proud to introduce The LawBiz Podcast™ and The Legal Mindset Corner. Both shows will produce new episodes monthly, and can be found on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and the Answering Legal YouTube Channel.
The LawBiz Podcast™, which releases its first episode on May 10th, is hosted by Gary Mitchell, the founder of OnTrac® Coach. Mitchell has been advising lawyers since 2005, and during his new show will be sharing expertise on topics such as mindset, practice management, business development, marketing, leadership and HR.
“(This podcast) is going to be another tool in the toolbox for lawyers who are serious about growing their practice or firm,” says Mitchell. “It’s going to be informational, educational and conversational. It won’t be just me. I’ll have guests on a regular basis. I’m going to start out with (my) clients, because I’m truly excited to help share their inspirational stories so that lawyers can find out what’s possible.”
The Legal Mindset Corner, which releases its first episode on May 22nd, is hosted by Cynthia Sharp and Becky Howlett. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sharp and Howlett co-founded The Legal Burnout Solution, an organization that aims to help lawyers manage stress and form healthier habits that foster productivity and wellness. The pair hopes to continue to promote increased conversation about lawyer wellness issues during their new podcast.
“I think especially with attorneys we have almost like this armor,” says Howlett. “We can’t be perceived as being ‘weak’. But we know from all of these statistics and all of these studies on lawyer well-being, on mental health and on substance use in the legal profession that these things are affecting our profession at epidemic rates. So this is not an isolated thing. We have a culture problem.”
“We fully believe that sustainable change happens one little bit at a time,” says Sharp. “(We hope to) inspire and motivate individual attorneys, and frankly anybody in the legal community, to adopt a lifestyle that’s healthy both of mind and of body.”
Answering Legal’s Everything Except The Law podcast will also continue to produce new episodes. On May 12th, the show will release its 45th episode, which will include a special panel of favorite former guests. The 46th episode of the podcast will be shared on May 18th.
Later this spring, Answering Legal will be adding three more new shows in its podcast network. Christopher Earley (Founder of the Earley Law Group) and Doug Brown (CLO at Summit Success International) will each host new shows on our platform. Also in development is a podcast that provides an inside look at the Answering Legal company. Stay tuned to the Answering Legal blog for more details!
