Congratulations!
Now that you know what to do, let’s get down to the “best practices” of each of the types of content you’re going to create.
Whiteboard Animation Videos “Best Practices”
If you’re using Fiverr to hire someone to make you a whiteboard animation video:
- You’ll need to sign up for an account with Fiverr. Than you can search for freelance whiteboard animators, and pick someone whose credentials sound like what you’re looking for! Once you’ve hired someone, give your hired help a detailed description of what you want, but you can let him/her use his/her imagination as well. Often times, if their ratings are high, they are creative enough to make you a video you’ll really enjoy.
- Stay in contact with your animator. He/she will have a better sense of what to expect from you if you let them know your deadline and what you want to see inside the video. Fiverr has a chat for a reason.
If you’re using PowToon to make a whiteboard animation video:
- You’ll need to sign up for an account with Powtoon. There is a free version that you can use, but Powtoon puts there own branding on your video, which looks less professional. Don’t be scared by their pricing page, if you pay for the year in advance, you only pay $19 per month. Otherwise, the plan you’ll need is $89 per month, billed month to month.
- Keep it short. Most people want a concise explanation of what they were looking for, and your video should be around 1-2 minutes long. After that, your user will most likely disengage.
- Make it fun. The best way to engage people with your video is to be entertaining. Pick some upbeat background music, speak with passion – don’t be monotonous, use fun animations!
- Your content is for your viewers, not for you. Make sure that your video really helps answer a question your customers are having.
eBook “Best Practices”
- Start with an idea, and grow it from there. The reason so many eBooks fail to even get written is that writers often don’t plan far enough ahead to actually follow through on their eBook.
- Pack your eBook with as much information as you know, and then do some research. Make your eBook the indisputable reference on the topic you choose.
- Put a call to action on other content that you have on your website that tells your users to download your eBook. If you don’t let your users know that your eBook exists, then what’s the point of all the work you did?
- Promote your eBook on social media using Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Sponsored Content, and even an email campaign! Make sure everyone has the opportunity to read the content you worked so hard on.
