Keeping the Communication Lines Open

There are a multitude of ways to keep an open line of communication between you and your potential new clients at all times. Especially today, the mobility of our communication capabilities have endless implications. Attorneys in private practice in today’s era can answer their phone on the run, email clients from their cell phone, and even make outbound phone calls using their office number from their mobile device (but we won’t get into that here).
For starters, it is always important that you have the capability to forward your office phone number to your cell phone, for whenever you have to leave the office unattended. This way, you can answer the phone as if it were ringing in your office, and speak to anyone who might be trying to hire you. This usually can be done universally by dialing *72, followed by your cell phone number. To undo call forwarding, usually dialing *73 will stop the forward. These codes differ by phone provider, and you should find out which code your provider uses to forward the calls. Check out our FAQ page for information on call forwarding.
Of course, as a sole practitioner, especially without a receptionist, you will miss some of the new clients trying to get in touch with you. Maybe you are in court, maybe you are meeting with other clients, or maybe you misplaced your cell phone while you were out. This is where Answering Legal proves its value to you. We provide our attorneys with a premier and professional Live Answering Servicethat ensures you will never miss that call. We look to support your current infrastructure by always being the second line of defense, instead of having new clients hang up on your voicemail, no matter how professional it might sound. We only take your calls according to how you’d like, and only when you’ve missed that call on your end. These steps ensure that no new business opportunity is squandered, no matter how big or small!
