Spice Up Your Bland Blog

Having to create consistent and compelling content is one of the biggest challenges for business owners who want to start a company blog. In order to write content that provides visitors with a memorable experience that keeps them coming back to read more, you need to stand out from other blogs in your chosen industry. Continue reading to learn a few tips and tricks you can use to start a quality blog and drive organic traffic to your company’s website.
Use Images and Graphics
Thanks to the improvement of cameras on smartphones and the popularity of Instagram and Snapchat, the Internet has becoming an increasingly visual medium. By extension, blogging has become a medium in which a visual component is just as important as the writing. Adding an interesting image or infographic will not only make your blog posts more appealing to visitors, it will lead to increased likes, comments, and shares.
Luckily, you don't have to be a professional graphic designer or purchase expensive software to create great images for your blog. There are many free or cheap photo editors that make it easy to crop, remove redeye, whiten teeth, create collages, or add filters. Editing images can also help with your branding, particularly if you use a consistent text or style throughout all of your visual content.
Promote Your Strengths and Experiences
When creating a blog, you want everything you are writing about to be relevant to your business. However, you also want to speak to not only what your company provides but what you've learned, what has helped your business grow, and what you would or would not do in the future. For example, perhaps you were involved in a big case that did not go as planned. Instead of writing it off as a loss, it would be better to be authentic and talk about that experience, including the tactics you would employ if that situation were to arise again in the future. This will create unique shareable content and also let your audience know that you are authentic, personable, and growth oriented.
Create Actionable Content
It isn’t enough to write quality content and hope that people discover it. You also need to focus on publishing content that is practical and can be put to use by your readers. When your visitors are able to take away real lessons from your blog and apply them to their own life, they will see your business as a trustworthy source of information and share that information with others, helping you stand out in a crowded industry. Giving your readers legitimate guidance will go a long way in building a following who will not only frequent your blog but contact you for your services should the need arise.
Writing a quality blog is not easy, and it will not happen overnight. But in the long run, creating compelling, shareable, and actionable content will go a long way toward building your digital brand and fostering trustworthiness among your potential clients and customers.
