Simple Tips for On-Site SEO on Your Website

Often, we think of old-school SEO as the establishing and connecting of backlinks, which really refers to having a relevant network of other websites that “endorse” you. New wave SEO is all about content, which we all know by now, is the optimization of relevant keywords, written to help your audience, not just bring your website traffic. While this move away from backlinks and move toward content is extremely helpful to attorneys, make sure that you do the following to maximize your Content and SEO efforts.
Page Title:
The Page Title refers to the title of the link that appears when the page actually ranks on Google. Your page title should contain the keyword that you are targeting, or at least one of them, and should be at the beginning of the title. Google allows for a maximum of 70 characters to be used. We recommend your Page Title be at least 40 characters, and contain the targeted keyword at the beginning. Your Page Title should let readers know the main topic of what they are about to read, and the targeted keyword should definitely be the main focus! This is also favorable on-site SEO.
Metatag:
The Metatag refers to the brief description underneath the Page Title when the page ranks in a Google search. The metatag should always contain your targeted keyword, because your viewers will be reading your metatag to know exactly what they are about to click on. Include a call to action in your metatag, because why should customers click your link unless you ask them? Try, “Call or Click Now!” or “Click Here!” “Click To Learn More!” These are all good examples, and optimizing your metatag is very favorable on-site SEO.
Headers:
Your targeted keywords should appear in a header, much like how “Page Title,” “Metatag,” and “Headers” appear on this page. Make sure you emphasize your keywords on your page, because your viewers’ eyes will follow the biggest letters! Using headers will allow you to direct where they look! H1 is the biggest header, and should be used for the page title. Smaller headers like H2 and H3 should be used for targeted keywords and to lead in to your paragraphs. Check back on our blog for a more in depth description on how to manage your headers!
Consult an SEO Expert:
Only an SEO Expert is capable of handling all of the aspects of SEO and Web Management at the same time, obviously because you are busy handling your own business. However, being informed can help you pick the right SEO Expert to help your business!
