Why a Diverse Social Media Presence Is Necessary

Of course, every effort that you put forth into establishing your web presence will help in some way, shape, or form. However, allocating all of your efforts into one area may not be the most beneficial method of driving traffic your way. While this might engage a certain amount of followers and even new customers, since your efforts were only allocated into these two mediums, the opportunity cost of sharing your efforts among a broad spectrum of social media and other web forums is fairly significant.
If you write a blog post that you feature on your site (which is where your desired traffic should be heading to increase your conversion rate) and you only share it via one source of social media, you are missing a large portion of your audience! Perhaps some of your potential viewers prefer Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogspot, Tumblr, or others that even I am forgetting! Establish Triggers:
Some websites offer free “triggers” that offer conditional sharing among all of your social media accounts. What you do is link your social media accounts to the trigger, and use a command that you find desirable. For example: if you Post a Blog on your website with the tag “share,” automatically post the link URL and article title on your twitter. From there, you can link everything together! Trigger your Facebook to share the tweet, your LinkedIn to share the Facebook status, and so on.
