How do I forward my VoIP phone to Answering Legal?

How to Forward Calls From a Landline or VoIP System to Answering Legal

Never miss an important call—forward your business line to Answering Legal so we can answer every call professionally and promptly.

Forwarding From a Traditional Landline

To Forward All Calls:

  • Pick up the handset and wait for a dial tone.
  • Dial *72, then immediately dial your Answering Legal number.
    Example: *728001234567
  • Wait for a confirmation tone or message.
  • Hang up. Your calls are now forwarded.

To Cancel Forwarding:

  • Dial *73 and wait for confirmation.
  • Hang up to disable forwarding.

Note: Some providers use variations like 72# or require pressing the call button. If this doesn't work, check with your landline provider.

Forwarding From a VoIP System (e.g., RingCentral, Vonage, Nextiva)

Most VoIP platforms allow forwarding based on time, caller type, or status (e.g., no answer).

Steps:

  • Log into your VoIP provider’s admin or user portal.
  • Go to Call Handling, Call Routing, or Forwarding Settings.
  • Choose your condition (e.g., always, after-hours, or when busy).
  • Enter your Answering Legal number.
  • Save changes.

Tips for Reliable Forwarding

  • Test the setup by calling from another number.
  • Set voicemail delay longer than your forwarding delay.
  • Let our team know if you need different scripts or handling instructions based on call type or time of day.
